The Wicked Witch of the West
Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls
“Who killed my sister? Who killed the Witch of the East? Was it you?” the Wicked Witch of the West asks Dorothy. “No, no. It was an accident. I didn’t mean to kill anybody.” Dorothy answers. “Well, my little pretty, I can cause accidents, too!”
So, we meet the Wicked Witch of the West! Our sweet little Nancy Ann as the Wicked Witch of the West stands six inches tall, is made of the finest (wicked green) bisque porcelain and has hand painted details. She is sculpted by doll artist Dianna Effner. She is wearing a black dress and a white petticoat. She comes with her hat and broom. She has black hair and brown eyes.
After being foiled in her attempt to get the Ruby Slippers from the Witch of the East, the Wicked Witch of the West tries to get them from Dorothy but is stopped again by Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. Just before she leaves Munchkin City, she issues a warning to Dorothy “Very well, I’ll bide my time — and as for you, my fine lady, it’s true, I can’t attend to you here and now as I’d like, but just try to stay out of my way…just try! I’ll get you, my pretty, and your little dog, too!” With smoke, fire and the stench of Sulphur the Wicked Witch of the West disappears to go and plot ways of getting those slippers from Dorothy!
Nancy Ann is sculpted by doll artist Dianna Effner.
