About the Artist:
Beate Rusch-Nann was looking for a new creative challenge when she decided to enroll in a teddy bear course. After the course she was finished, she knew she just could not stop until she created her own bear using a pattern she developed herself. Since that day, in December of 1998, Beate Rusch-Nann has been successfully making teddy bears from her home studio in Freiburg, a city in the South West of Germany. Each of Beate’s bears has a warm and friendly personality with a smile in their eyes – that’s because they are created with so much love! Beate’s ultimate satisfaction is to be able to take her ideas and transfer them from a thought to paper to mohair. Sitting back in her chair looking at her new creation, see feels very content and happy to have the ability and talent to create teddy bears. Beate’s other life interests include traveling, e-mailing and cultivating and collecting cacti, a passion she developed at the age of 9 when she was given her first cactus.
