Pauline first introduced the little character Ling Ling in the early 1980’s. Her name in Chinese means “bright” and she shares the same name as the wonderful giant panda, Ling Ling, that China presented as a gift to the United States in 1972. Pauline’s first love in art was drawing and painting and her favorite topic was children. Her earliest dolls were adorable little cloth dolls with hand-painted and embroidered expressions. When Pauline created her first collection of vinyl children, Ling Ling’s delicate features and sweet expression generated tremendous appeal both in the United States and Europe. Ling Ling’s beautiful dress is made with a delicate white silk and features exquisite pintucking and beautiful cotton lace trim. Her lovely features and beautiful brown eyes are delicately framed by a lovely mohair wig. Ling Ling holds her adorable resin baby doll that features a mohair wig, delicate hand-painting and a pretty pink silk outfit.
