During Peter's honeymoon in Africa, the majesty and grace of its creatures inspired him to sculpt this elegant piece. As for the story behind this box figurine, the giraffes have stripped the trees of their leaves and so there is no shade for the lion cubs. However, the giraffes know the cubs have full bellies and are no threat, and so allow them to take cover from the fierce sun, a moment of harmony in the animal kingdom. Inside is a South African cent.
The mouse in the first 500 pieces is under a giraffe's chin, now located between a lion's paw.
