Six young cats are on and under a stool, and one is hidden inside the box.
Inscriptions: "May 1 97" and "Blair Wins" refers to the landslide victory for Tony Blair and the Labour Party in the recent UK General Election.
This youthful group of cats perhaps reflects the new government in contrast to the now retired "Major's Mousers" group of older cats whose retirement was announced shortly before that of John Major, former Prime Minister.
The first cuckoo of the season and a grass snake had been spotted by Peter whilst working on this piece and have been incorporated into the design. The tin can appears again.
Peter says this is the first time that the signature mouse has shown his bottom!
