Little Orphan Annie®, created by cartoonist Harold Gray, first appeared in newspapers across the United States in 1924.  The gutsy orphan with her mop of red hair and optimistic attitude triumphed over adversity and sent bullies running-and in doing so, immediately won the hearts of readers of every age.  Polly has rooted curly blond hair.  She is wearing a green paid dress with flowered mock and brown suede boots.
