Wild Bear Hic-cup Monument

Item Number:  19801

Wild Bear Hic-Up, the leader of the Bruins, a group of Pioneering Bears, was travelin' out West in a caravan, got pooped, took a few swigs from his canteen (hence the nickname Hic-Up!), and decided to stay put right where he pitched his tent! He named his watering hole Boyds Town, Bearsylvania, and lived out the rest of his days as town marshal. Legend has it that Wild Bear was one mean sharp shooter and set up a Wild West Show not far from where The Roxbeary Theater now stands. Folks say if ya dig deep enough, you can still find empty shells from his Bearchester rifle, and, on warm Summer nights, hear pistol shots ringin' out in the valley! A few years after his passin', townsfolk erected a bronze monument to Wild Bear Hic-Up in the town square - some say it was a present from folks pretty far off...took two trains two days to haul it in to the station! The monument is so lifelike you can almost hear Wild Bear singin' a lonesome cowbear song...even stamped the Boyds Pawprint on his powder flask!
