Each of Ruth Treffeisen's dolls is carefully hand-crafted in her studio in Germany. The clothing is consciously simple to give preference to the valuable materials and superior quality of the tailoring. Ruth uses only the best human hair or mohair wigs to emphasize the doll faces and the doll type. The heads and shoulder plates are adjusted with movable joints, which enables different expressions and settings. The jewelry is exclusively hand crafted from gold, silver, pearls and real stones. Every accessory, such as a hat or shoe is designed by Ruth to guarantee uniqueness. The Piccolini babies resemble breath-tender blooms. Their bodies are made of the finest materials and their expressions radiate a quiet restraint. Their eyes are mouth-blown glass eyes. These dolls are highly prized world wide, are certificated, signed by the artist herself and are produced in extremely limited editions.
