Scootles "The Baby Tourist" was first designed as Rose O'Neill's personal doll that would travel with her.  The name Scootles came from her "scooting" about in her world travels.  This costume was patterned from the paper doll book "Scootles and Kewpie Doll Book" by Rose O'Neill.  Body parts are string assembled, which has not been done for over 50 years.
